National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The National Disability Insurance Scheme, or NDIS, is an Australian Government initiative that provides individuals with permanent or significant disabilities with access to critical funding for services and support that they require on an ongoing basis to maintain a good quality of life.
For many, the NDIS allows them the only access to the critical support they need.
Individuals living with permanent or significant disabilities who are able to access the NDIS benefits are provided with information to community-based services such as doctors, support groups, local community services, schools, libraries and information about local government support networks for those suffering from their particular condition.
Whilst the NDIS is a complicated initiative, it doesn’t have to be something that you, or someone you love, has to understand implicitly in order to access the benefits. At Carefully Yours, we have extensive experience working with our clients and the NDIS and can help guide you through the complexities of what is required to access this valuable support network.
National
The NDIS is being introduced progressively across all states and territories.
Disability
The NDIS provides support to eligible people with intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability. Early intervention supports can also be provided for eligible people with disability or children with developmental delay.
Insurance
The NDIS gives all Australians peace of mind if they, their child or loved one is born with or acquires a permanent and significant disability, they will get the support they need.
Scheme
The NDIS is not a welfare system. The NDIS is designed to help people get the support they need so their skills and independence improve over time.
